This 8" damper is designed for the big block 396/402/427 engines. The stock damper for these engines is 7" in diameter but for high performance applications this is a better choice. This damper is made of tough nodular iron and includes 60° of easily readable timing marks plus engraved marks every 90° as well. Like all PowerForce dampers, this damper is 'Super Compressed.'.

The 454 and 502 big block Chevy's require an externally balanced damper. This 8" damper is identical to the 80004 with the addition of a bolt-in counterweight which provides the correct imbalance...accurate to within 2 grams...for the externally balanced big block Chevy assemblies.
