It also reduces distortion of the main-bearing bores

by increasing the cap’s resistance to closing up under

high loads.  Bessel Motorsports ™ Splayed Caps are made

of 1028 Billet steel, this offers a tensile

strength of 87,000 PSI and yield strength of 72,000

PSI.  This strength is key because it absorbs more

shock than other makes and is the perfect balance

of carbon and steel, keeping the steel as strong as

possible without being too brittle.
